This has become our favorite restaurant. We go probably 4 times a week not only for the delicious food, but for the friendship from the owners as well as the patrons. This is a family atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a lot of food for a lower than competitive price. I don't think you could be disappointed.

We stopped in for breakfast. Decor old (-1star) as expected for this type of roadside stop, but clean and comfortable. Even with a nearly packed house we received excellent and friendly service, our coffee was always hot and kept full. The portions were large, hot, home-style and tasty. Ordered an omelet, biscuits and gravy, sausages... All perfect and from scratch. I was even able to order buttermilk! Our waitress says they still make their own Ranch dressing! (Diners are discontinuing buttermilk and freshly made dressings. I have not found buttermilk for some years now... Been ordering it for the past 40.) Very pleased. We may never be this route again, but if we are, this will be our stop!

When you warm the syrup, chill the milk glass and get the bacon crispy, you know how to serve breakfast. Pancakes, hash browns were on point. So glad we stopped, we'll be back!!

This place is GREAT!!!!
Every time I go to a new breakfast place I always order Biscuits and Gravy. Most of the time I wind up dosing the gravy with an ample application of hot sauce to mask the flavor. This makes me wonder why I keep putting myself through the this series of disappointments. Because of Gridley Grill I remember that when B&G is done right there is almost nothing finer in life. And boy do they do it right! I can't remember the last time I had better food and service.
Speaking of service, that staff is fabulous. They engaged with my son with such genuine sincerity that he wanted to take their pictures to remember them. They are really sweet.
I wish Gridley Grill was in San Jose.
